BRU Backup Utility The BRU Backup Utility lets you configure and run backups and restores of your system’s data. First install the Backup and Restore Utility Personal version (BRU-PE Install), then the X Windows version (BRU-X11 Install). When instal- lation is complete, restart the Panel from the KDE main menu (Panel|Restart). To start the BRU-PE Backup Utility from the KDE main menu, select Utili- ties|BRU-PE Backup Utility. OSS Sound System The OSS Sound System commercial package can be used to enable sound cards that are not supported by the sound card drivers that come with OpenLinux. To install the OSS Sound System, simply click on the OSS Install link. The kpack- age window opens and you can install the package. You can obtain a license for OSS from this site: http://www.opensound.com/order.html. StarOffice 5.1 Office Suite StarOffice is an integrated set of office software. It includes spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, email, graphics, and other applications. This is a full version of StarOffice (for personal, non-commercial use), available for a 30-day evaluation period. To install StarOffice, click on the install link for the language you want to install. Then click on Install from the kpackage window to install StarOffice. After kpackage is done, run the following program to complete the StarOffice install: /opt/Office51/bin/soffice During the configuration process, you will need to enter some information. That information includes the following: • Media key: A key to allow you to use this trial version of StarOffice is contained on a sticker on the inside cover of this guide. • User data: Includes name, address, and contact information.
